The National Network of Parent Carer Forums (NNPCF) has reacted to the publication of the government’s Special Educational and Disability and Alternative Provision (SENDAP) Improvement Plan at the beginning of March. Its response says: “There is much to welcome in the SENDAP Implementation Plan, in particular, we are pleased to see that national standards will form the basis of ordinarily available provision, have such a prominent role……Unfortunately, in some areas, the plan does not go as far as we would want…..We, the NNPCF, will continue work with government and NHSE to ensure that urgency to address the problems in the SEND system remains a priority.” Read the full statement here: https://nnpcf.org.uk/2023/03/02/special-educational-needs-and-disability-and-alternative-provision-sendap-improvement-plan-published/ – National Network of Parent Carer Forums C.I.C (nnpcf.org.uk) and the full government Improvement Plan here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/send-and-alternative-provision-improvement-plan – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
